When I was once talking to a very good friend of mine, who had served two tours of duty as a Marine in Viet Nam as a gunner on a helicopter, I asked him what he recalled.
His immediate response was "the smell of fear". He told me how he could smell it when a squad of marines climbed on his helicopter to be ferried into the bush.
In the last 24 hours, the sense of fear in our town seems to be very high. I have been struck by the sense of it in most everyone that I talk to. When Charly hit, most people were both surprised and shocked by the impact. Now they know what to expect, and many are afraid.
The latest track has the storm moving ever so slightly to the West, given the size and scope, it has the making of being disastrous.
All over Winter Park, FL 32789, people are scrambling to tie things down, clean things up, patch matters as if it is going to make a difference.
Buzz,
As much as I love your product and hate your politics, I am praying for you and your community in the face of this storm. Good luck.
