Still no photos...it has been raining all afternoon. Driving around Winter Park, FL 32789 and the E. & NE sides of Orlando is pretty ugly. All kinds of trees down, branches everywhere, and very few places with power.
I drop by Herndon Airport, which is our general aviation airport and saw maybe 20-30 planes trashed. Correction just heard 40 planes trashed. The tarmac looked like the airport junk yard.
Very few businesses open. We drove for about 45 minutes looking for a place to have lunch and one decent place that was jammed with people, the wait was long, but the food good and the beer cold.
Apparently there were 3,000 people stranded at OIA, i.e. MCO in airplane lingo.
I can only imagine how much fun it was to hang out at the airport, particularly looking up the East Coast and see the storm headed that way.
