I have been here in San Diego at DemoMobile for about twenty four hours. I have seen a bunch of friends which has been great.
I have sat through maybe 20 different presentations regarding mobile technology and applications. Some pretty arcane, some only for the enterprise, and some that I don't see ever making it, but it's hard to handicap this stuff.
It seems that if you are 18-34, and use your mobile phone for lots of things, and had a game boy that you played with, you are going to have some great stuff coming down the pike. If you are in the service business and have workers in the field, you are also going to see some great stuff.
For rest of us, the jury is out. I am not sure that I have seen one consumer product that I thought would succeed, but maybe will be aggregated with other technology and morph into another form.
Presenters are given 6 minutes to show their stuff, this morning, some of the presentations had their technology fail, and it got painful
Probably the best part of the conference so far has been the one or one interviews that Chris Shipley and
Amy Francetic have done with a number of industry leaders. They are both very poised and well prepared, and I have suggested that the transcripts of their sessions be put on the DemoMobile site, as they are excellent.
More to come!
