Being a creature of habit, I tend to find myself doing a lot of the same things at the same times.
One of them is driving back from the gym on late Sunday afternoon. I tend to go the gym once the football games are pretty much over, and then when I drive home I listen to the local public radio station.
Yesterday I had one of those “drive way moments” e.g. when you end up sitting in the driveway listening to a piece on public radio. In this case it was “On the Media” and the piece was about “The X Factor in Radio”. Very much worth listening to as it is about the 50,000 watt blaster stations that were situation just across the US/Mexican border.
There is a great quote at the end of the piece comparing early radio and the Internet.
And if you listen closely, you will learn about the history of “Wolfman Jack”.
Great fun, great stuff, well worth the time.
