AlwaysOn...John McCain, running for president!

McCain is standing about 20 feet from me! Looks OK, face perhaps a little puffy. Speaking without notes!

Quotes…

“Running for president because I am the most prepared!”

“Psychological hearts and minds challenge at the end of the day”

“Needs no on the job training”

“Have tools to take on the challenge”

“My friends there is corruption in Washington”

“Problem is ‘earmarking “

“Congress approval is at 14%, which is really blood relatives and paid staffers”

“I know that climate change is real” “Debate is over”

“Technology that is going to get us through this difficult period”

“I believe in cap and trade program”

“I believe in nuclear power”

“President of France is the first pro-American since Lafayette”

Now for the panel!

John Chambers is heading his campaign. Also on stage is Peter Robinson of Hoover Institute, former speech writer for Reagan.

Why no immigration reform..

McCain..failed to convince the American people that we would secure the borders!

McCain, cut taxes and restrain spending!

Never thought war would be cheap! Tax cuts must be made permanent! Restricting size of government! Greatest increase in the size of government.

Three kinds of members of congress! Republicans, Democrat's and appropriators!

“We are in a revolution….”

“100,000 empty homes in Michigan”

Question: “How should I feel about China?”

Question: “Is the surge working?” Yes…

“American sacrifice only continues if change occurs…”

“I believe the strategy in Iraq is succeeding”…

“Will come to Silicon Valley, and seek people to come and serve the country”…and to do it for free!

I am sure that others will do a better job of summarizing this talk. I am not a fan of McCain’s. He has handled himself well, appears to think well on his feet, but is firmly convinced that we should stay the course in Iraq. He has handled all the questions fairly well! Questions have ranged from Tech to Energy to China. The audience has treated him very seriously and with great respect!
