Breaks over..Philip Rosedale of Second Life is at the podium.
I find Second Life to be fascinating, but given the fact that I am not a gamer, I haven’t spent much time playing with it. A friend has told me that he sees huge opportunities for handicapped people in the areas of virtual worlds.
Footnote…I was just gesturing while talking and spilled a latte on my pants and shoes, nice!
Back to Second Life, “wanted to build a place that could be better than the real world…” What we are seeing on the screen is a world that is 250 Square miles, about 12,000 computer servers spread across the US.
Now we are watching second life in Japan! Rosedale is using Babel Fish to do a real time translation.
Web…static environment connected by text, Second Life virtual world, and ultimately hold the promise of being easier to use.
Fascinating…
