Tolles.. Not enough news about local news! No economic model to drive the reporting of local news. Rubert Murdoch the next great media figure!
Grimes..popularity of blogosphere reaction to unhappiness with mainstream press!
Cohen.. Attention span has shortened. People mouse over the summary.
Warms…lot of value to just be able to scan headlines.
Tolles… People used to write headlines to sell newspapers. Now goal is to have headline be the key piece of news. Sunday NYT..being a weekly news magazine.
Grimes…people experimenting with new forms. How do you exploit the web to be better journalists.
Cohen… you shop, you snack, and then you try to convince the reader to go deeper in!
What did Murdoch get? Got audience! Influence and prestige!
Cohen… Murdoch gets that media has been distributed differently! Will he open up the WSJ.com?
