Today's thought...
I have spent today with my friend Ernie Svenson. We drove through some parts of New Orleans that had been devastated by the floods post Katrina. I will upload some pictures I took to Flickr later today, but I was just reading the blog of a guy who was talking about ActiveWords on the tablet PC, and I came across this picture, which pretty much sums up how I feel about the season.

Perhaps a better choice might be to figure out how to buy less, and to re-build the various neighborhoods that were built in the wrong place beneath levees that were supposed to work.
Anyone who lived through the hurricanes we had last year in Florida, would be speechless if they saw the devasation. Pictures just don’t work, you need to see this to believe it.
Thanks for the thought, Buzz. I wish a lot more of us felt this way.

Amen to that.
My wife and I have been actively minimizing the physical stuff in our lives this year. We have also extended this "reductionist" approach to people who do not particularly enhance our lives or who bring negative energy to our interactions with them. It's liberating!
Merry Christmas, Buzz.

I always appreciate reinforcement like this. We're trying to be less materialistic at home, and this is a good reminder. FYI Here are some related books on my reading list:

Buzz,
My parents moved to New Orleans just before the hurricane. Fortunately their house was undamaged. I was there for thanksgiving and I'll be heading back there on Thursday for xmas.
We drove through canal street and other places that were badly damaged. The 9th ward wasn't open yet even. Let me know if you're in New Orleans or in the area. Also are you planning on being in Vegas for CES? I am hoping to be there.
Take care,
Trev
