MindManager...dazzling tool...

When I was in Boston this fall, and as I have blogged before I had the honor of attending a seminar put on by my friend David Allen. One of the tools that David demoed for us was MindManage from MindJet!

Watching him use ActiveWords to launch a MindMap and then add to it on the fly was one of those "Eureka" moments in my recent tech life. I got a copy of MindManger, and probably have a dozen MindMaps working right now. I have named them all with ActiveWords and can launch each of them in about 5 seconds. I find myself constantly adding to them, and find MindMaps invaluable.

This morning I wrote a script with ActiveWords that creates a new MindMap. I have named it "newmm", made it a code, i.e. launches with a single touch of the space bar.

The script is as follows:

<mmx> is what I have named the MindManager application.

 

I keep telling the people that the power of ActiveWords includes the ability to do stuff like this. Not sure why it resonates to me, but when I see a bunch of ideas in a MindMap, they absolutely stimulate me to more creative thinking than simply looking at a list.

 

If you have written any scripts inside MindManager with ActiveWords, let me know, and maybe we can find a way to build a MindManager word base for everyone to use.
