Mirra to the rescue...
One of the great companies and great products here at Demo is Mirra! I met Leslie Latham and her team last year here at DemoMobile and talked my way into test a Mirra.
The Mirra is like the mother of all back up systems. It is slightly larger than a bread box, a nifty little device that backs up your computer in real time.
I told the Mirra team that I would blog about how terrific my Mirra was. On August 13, when Hurricane Charley hit Winter Park, FL 32789, I had just gotten back to my place, and had stopped to do something never dreaming that we would be without power for a week.
It was just about 9 P.M. when the storm slammed us. I hadn't had the time to turn off all of my computers. On one of my work stations I had some important documents open that I had been working on. I wasn't really worried about anything, mostly do to my own stupidity, what whammo out go the lights, and a moment later I realized that my UPS wasn't working and everything had gotten turned off.
I uttered an expletive as I had no clue as to whether the documents had been saved.
Seven days later when the power came back, and my Mirra kicked in there were my documents in perfect shape. The Mirra worked perfectly, just as promised.
I keep writing about how successful technology is the result of aggregating innovative ideas. The Mirra is a great product, with a great company behind it, and wonderful support!
Get one, and then try to avoid Hurricanes!
p.s. There is a mother of a storm headed our way!
