Yesterday I was thumbing through some magazines, and spotted an article in FastCompany on blogging.
Turned to page 84, of the April 2004 issue, and there found a great spread on my good friend Robert Scoble. I gave him a call, we had a fun talk, and then I bought the magazine, scanned in the two pages and E-Mailed it to him.
It is really excellent when you see your friends in print. I recently found myself in Borders looking at books, and was amazed to see how many different books I either have in my library or have read where I know the authors.
What a pleasure!
I am one of those people who grew up so far in the woods, beyond the pale of TV, that reading has always been and will always be important to me.
When you recognize the work that goes in to a great book, you really have to be humbled. A friend of mine once said that having a library of books that you have read is like keeping a six-pack of empty beer bottles.
I have come to give away the books that I read so that others might enjoy them, but when friends write books, I keep them as if they are my personal treasure.
At the same time when you realize what brilliant technology both the Internet and weblogs are, you see how quickly ideas came be brought to a forum where they can shared, honed, and presented in an even better form.
Great stuff Robert! Blog on Dude!
To survive in this hart competition you must deliver something special. And that is what you definitely do. So go on like this, it’s really great.
